The Magic Fish
A man was fishing on his favorite lake one day when he got a bite at the end of his pole and pulled a fish out of the water. He unhooked the fish and it started to talk to him.
Fish: "Please release me back into the lake and I will grant you three wishes."
The man was delighted and started to think of what he wanted.
Man: "For my first wish, I want a million dollars."
Fish: "It will be granted, once you get back home, you will have the money in your bank account."
Man: "Awesome. For my second wish, I want a beautiful wife."
Fish: "It will be granted also, her name will be Pamela. What do you want for your third and final wish?"
The man had to ponder over it for a second and asked the fish a question.
Man: "Why does it have to be three wishes?"
Fish: "Cause that’s the set number."
Man: "Well, can I wish for more wishes?"
Fish: "No, everybody gets only three."
Man: "Everybody? What if I was someone different, can I technically get three more?"
Fish: "I guess so, you will be a different person."
Man: "Okay, for my third wish, I wish I was somebody different. I will have the same name, same life, and look exactly like myself except for one characteristic, but I will technically be somebody else."
Fish: "Granted."
The fish waves his gills and the man changes a little. He is about to ask for his first wish as a different person when suddenly he can talk. He tries to say something, but can’t.
Fish: "You didn’t specify what characteristic you wanted to change, so I transformed you into a mute. If you can’t speak, you can’t wish. Goodbye!"
The fish jumps back into the water and the man tries to catch him again without success. He heads back home to his new fortune and wife. After a week, Pamela left him cause she couldn’t deal with his muteness. He spent all his money trying to search the lake for the fish so he could change himself back, but was unsuccessful. The man finally gave up and went to a bar where he ran into a buddy who noticed his inability to speak.
Buddy: "Let me guess, it was the magic fish of the lake who took away your speech."
Man: (nods)
Buddy: "Yeah, that is one tricky fish, always trying to cheat his way out of tough wishes he doesn’t like. But you were lucky, my third wish was to have sex with him."
