About the "Protected us for 7 Years" Meme

Republicans like to tell us that Bush protected us from terrorism for 7 years.  Uh, Bush was president for 8 years, not 7.  I guess the people of New York and DC on 9/11 didn't count when it came to protecting us.  Even during those 7 years, most those terrorist attacks Bush "protected" us from turned out to be fake.  I guess the Osama got what he wanted and didn't need to attack us anymore; Bush did the rest of the terrorism against our Constitution.
