29 September 08 - 07:59War of the Bracelets
Whether or whether not you think it was appropriate for Obama to mention the dead soldier during the debates and show his bracelet (apparently his mom says it was okay), it doesn't change the fact that the troops are unnecessarily dying. Sometimes we get into these emotional spells where we forget the truth and murderous ideology rears its head. The war was unjust, we should have gotten out a long time ago, Bush needs to be tried for war crimes.

16 September 08 - 17:55Malcontented is a Dumbass
Michelle Malcontented seems to think that owning a $35,000 tanning bed is not elitist, but the exact opposite.
Michelle Malcontented:
Can they be more out of touch? Tanning beds have long been derided as “white trash” and “redneck.”
By "long have been" you mean a few websites you searched for to prove your point. I wonder how many poor rednecks can pay for a $35,000 tanning bed? I'm guessing not many you dumbass.

16 September 08 - 00:30"I like cows, hire me!"
Cronyism at its worst.
So when there was a vacancy at the top of the State Division of Agriculture, she appointed a high school classmate, Franci Havemeister, to the $95,000-a-year directorship. A former real estate agent, Ms. Havemeister cited her childhood love of cows as a qualification for running the roughly $2 million agency.

14 September 08 - 20:58What the Media Would Say if...
...the Obama ignored Palin or treated her more gingerly:
"If Obama can't stand up to Palin, can he stand up to dictators?"
"He is sexist for treating Palin differently than he would for a male candidate."
"He is afraid of Palin."
But no, it's the exact opposite:
"He is criticizing Palin too much."
"He is sexist for attacking Palin too much."
"He is afraid of Palin, so he is attacking her."
It's a catch 22.

Woman: No and now I'm endorsing the Palin/Coulter ticket for 2016 and...uh!

12 September 08 - 08:14Dumbing Down of this Great Nation
My mortal foe Michelle Malkin (Malcontented) loves to post irrelevant things on her well visited blog, today the lead story was about how the two candidates threw their flowers.
If this election comes down to this, we are screwed. Fuck the economy, fuck global warming, fuck healthcare, fuck energy independence, fuck world peace, OBAMA THREW HIS ROSE LIKE HE IS TOSSING PENNIES INTO A FOUNTAIN!!!!! 11 September 08 - 09:41New Name for Sarah Palin
"NaPalin"
It's a take off of "Napoleon", the pig from Animal Farm. It's a reference to her being borderline authoritarian. Also to piss her off for the pig comparison.

10 September 08 - 21:14Is it Just Me...
...or now that McCain is slightly ahead in the polls, Republicans haven't shut up about it. Obama has led in the polls most of the Summer and after the Republican Convention, McCain gets a small bump in the polls. Republicans now see this as some sort of justification. I guess when the debates come and McCain will be forced to debate the issues, Obama will be over 50% again until election day.

10 September 08 - 13:55New Rule
In the tradition of Bill Maher, I'm going to make up a rule:
If you ideology says that it is wrong to use the "gender" or "race" card, you are not allowed to use thoses cards. First off, I don't like to use that term "card" when it comes to accusations of racism or sexism, but for the argument I will use them. When Clarence Thomas was accused for his sexual harassment, he accused his critics for their "hightech lynching." Now McCain and Palin are accusing Obama for sexism cause he used the idiom "lipstick on a pig" when talking about McCain. But they are saying he was being sexist towards Palin. Fucking bullshit, like I said if you've railed against liberals using "cards" your entire life, you aren't allowed to do it yourself.

09 September 08 - 22:19McCain is not Honorable
McCain lies about Obama's education record. He accuses Obama of supporting teaching kindergartners about sex ed when really it's to stop pedophiles. And that "I approve this message" at the end? Fuck you John McCain.

07 September 08 - 10:09Senate Predictions
Democrats will pick up at least 5 senate seats this election in the states of Virginia, New Mexico, New Hampshire, Colorado, and Alaska. Democrats will be competitive in Oregon, Minnesota, North Carolina, and Mississippi and hopefully take away a few more seats from the Republican bastards.

07 September 08 - 00:54Let Them Celebrate
BYU beat Washington today 28-27. Why one point for the difference? Cause the refs made the Washington team kick the extra point with a 15 yard penalty and it was blocked. Why? The player who scored threw the ball up in celebration. It was ruled "unsportsmanlike conduct." What the fuck? Let them celebrate. If it is blatant taunting, flag them, but this is bullshit.

06 September 08 - 16:15Inconvenient Truths for Republicans
McCain, Palin, and the Republicans think they have a good shot at retaining the White House this year, but there are some facts they will have to deal with.
1. The map is not on their side. McCain thinks he has a shot at Democratic "swing states" won by both Gore and Kerry like Wisconsin, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. Bullshit. Obama will also most likely pick up New Hampshire, Iowa, and New Mexico. That adds up to 264 electoral votes. Obama needs Colorado, Ohio, Virginia, Florida, or Nevada to win or tie. I also see Missouri possibly being in play. I've been watching the map and Obama has not gone below McCain in the polls.
2. Palin will not pick up as many women as they think she will. McCain thought he was clever and added a woman to the ticket. Only the women who were going to vote for McCain anyways will vote for McCain. ...

05 September 08 - 17:33Nonviolence Intro
My first post on this blog will deal
with an issue very close to my heart. It will not be the last on this
issue either, so for the purposes of this and future posts, I will give a brief
explanation of nonviolent resistance which will be elucidated by further
explanation in coming posts.
Nonviolence is a difficult
concept. It’s a negative term, almost like an absence of action. It
is not violent resistance; so many people assume it must therefore be
nonresistance. It might be better described by Martin Luther King, who
called it soul force. Mahatma Gandhi called it Satyagraha.
Jesus didn’t coin a pithy phrase for it, but talked about it frequently.
Later, I will make a case for Jesus’ death and resurrection as proof of
nonviolence’s efficacy from a religious perspective, just as I will make a case
for it on social grounds. Jesus’ words and example will prove useful on
both counts. ...

05 September 08 - 08:59Why I Hate Republicans
I wonder how many Republicans were masturbating while watching this. It's sickening and it's bullshit. The Republicans have exploited 9/11 to their benefit and it's time to end it. Watch Olbermann's reaction to it at the end, it's very powerful. He was close to tears and I'm glad someone on the news has the courage to say it.

04 September 08 - 01:13Best Daily Show in Weeks
While Palin was making her case in front of thousands of fascists, Jon Stewart was ripping right-wingers left and right...well mostly right.
Since the end of the writers strike, the Daily Shows haven't been as good as they used to be, but the one played September 3rd was the shit. Stewart and the others started bashing Larry Craig, then went on to Bush, Thompson, and Lieberman. The second segment, Stewart exposed right-wing hypocrisy from people treating Palin differently than other people. Rove was claiming Palin was experienced for being mayor of a small town, but not Tim Kaine for being mayor of Richmond. O'reilly said that Bristol Palin's parents are off limits, but the parents of Jamie Lynn Spears. And finally, the people who claimed that criticism of Palin is sexist while saying sexist things about Hillary. The last segment he interviewed Newt, the king of hypocrisy. ...
